Roopa Kudva Speaks at Kotak Institutional Equities

Omidyar Network’s Roopa Kudva shared her perspectives on ‘Investing in innovation to Change the World’ at this year’s Kotak Institutional Equities event.

Every year leading international and domestic investors, institutional investment firms, corporates, and influencers in the financial community gather to attend the Kotak Institutional Equities conclave. This conference focuses on a wide range of macroeconomic issues that will affect India in the near to medium term.

At this year’s event, Omidyar Network’s Roopa Kudva shared her perspectives on ‘Investing in innovation to Change the World.’

In her keynote, she emphasized the ability for investments that have social impact at massive scale while delivering financial returns. Roopa talked about the five initiatives at Omidyar Network: Financial Inclusion, Education, Consumer Internet & Mobile, Governance & Citizen Engagement, and Property Rights. She also made reference to the Frontier Capital report, a seminal work published by Omidyar Network. In her talk, Roopa made a special reference to the factors that have contributed to the entrepreneurial ecosystem and highlighted drivers of social impact that are gaining momentum including smartphone penetration, 950+ million Aadhar/ Unique Identification registrations, digitization of payments, new skills policy, and experimentation with new forms of land acquisition.
