Techies push for ethics in computer science programs

A new initiative, backed by the foundations of Pierre Omidyar, Eric Schmidt, Craig Newmark and Mozilla aims to convince the nation’s computer science departments to spend more time teaching the ethics of the profession alongside the basics of coding.

Ina Fried at Axios shares insights on the Responsible Computer Science Challenge, a project incubated at Omidyar Network’s Tech and Society Solutions Lab to jump-start and scale promising approaches to integrating ethical thinking and social consideration into undergraduate computer science education.
